Finally...he drink the milk from the bottle!!!

Yes, finally my little Calvin willing to drink my milk from the bottle! Hoooorayyyy!!! (Calvin refused to drink my milk from the bottle even though he is very very hungry.)

Wanted to know how I did it? Is...I bought him the baby pacifier(0+ month). Before this, I gave him the pacifier (6+ month) which my elder son Carson used to use last time. Of course is new one...we bought it last time for spare. I thought no problem even though I noticed the pacifier was a little bit big for Calvin. Because I told my mum about this, but my mum said is all the same, shouldn't be a problem. Because Carson started to used it when he was just 1 month plus. But I really need to think a way for Calvin to the drink the milk from the bottle. If not, I will be very tired and also if sometimes I am not feeling well, took some medicine, he still have to drink my milk. I think not so good for him. So I noticed that Calvin likes to suck my nipple when he wanted to sleep. Then I think may be I can starts with the pacifier. I go to buy the 0+ month pacifier. I gave him when he fall asleep. At first, he used his tongue trying to push out the pacifier, but I push it in again. I think may be he don't know how to suck the pacifier. Few times later, he really started to suck it. I was so happy because if he knows how to suck the pacifier automatically he will know how the drink my milk from the bottle. Is true, I gave him my milk from the bottle on the next day. The same thing happened...he used his tongue to push out the bottle, I push it in again. Two three times later, he started to drink the milk from the bottle and suck the milk 'speedingly'. So that is mean...not that he don't want to drink the milk from the bottle, is he don't know how to suck the milk from the bottle. Because the nurse told me that the way of sucking the milk from the bottle is different with sucking our nipple.

Wah! Taking care of a baby is really not that easy and is a challenging job too. But I'm still enjoying it. Every time when I look at the baby, everything is worth it.

Wah! It has been so long I never update my blog. Thanks eiko-chan for upload my little Calvin picture.

I will be staying with my brother until end of this year. Hopefully I will have more time to online and update my blog, especially my emails when I am back to my own house.

I am very busy to take care of the baby now because my baby don't want to drink my milk using the bottle. He INSIST I breast feeding him. He drink the water using the bottle but not the milk. Even I pumped out the milk and use the bottle to feed him, he still don't want. He will spit all out. HELP ME! I really don't know what to do already. Any advise??? That is why I am very busy now because I cannot leave him to anyone. So 'cham'...hehehe! Actually on the other hand, I am enjoying to take care of him too.

HELLO!... again!

Hello everyone!

This is your guest blogger eiko-chan again =D! Aren't you happy to see me? I'm sure you do (trust me to talk to myself all the time)!~

Anyways, the reason i'm "guest-blogging" here is because the blog owner, May, my cousin sister, my cousin-brother-in-law's wife, my nephews' mother, my kumama's daughter, my mother's niece, my cousin sister's cousin sister, is currently not very "convenient" to Blog, and so i'm blogging for her on and off till she gets better to Blog again! I'm sure you've read this previous post of hers, one advice she got off the com is to stay away from computers temporary, and thats what she's doing!

Her due date is soon, can't wait to see my nephew! Lets all pray that she gets better soon!

Making Preserved Eggs (Century Eggs)

I saw my cousin Anna’s blog. Knowing that she likes to eat the salted eggs and made the salted eggs herself. I don’t know whether she like to eat century eggs or not. But I just post the recipe up and if she wants, she can try it herself.I never try it before, because I always feel if I want to eat those eggs, I can just go and buy at the market. Don’t have to do so much things. Hehehe! Because I am very lazy to prepare all those things.

1. Rinse fresh duck eggs clean, pat dry and smear 1 cm layer of mud over the shell. Coat with a layer of rice husks and pack tightly. Leave the eggs to cure for 3-4 months.
2. Yellow mud is best for preserving duck eggs because of its alkaline properties and high mineral content. Minerals seep through the shells, which coagulates the egg white before turning it into a dark grey, translucent and gelatinous texture. The yolk, however, turns yellowish green or grayish green.
3. Besides cold dishes, preserved eggs can also be cooked or stir-fried with other ingredients.
   

Damn, I got Bells Palsy!

I feel so sad now because I am so unlucky to have Bells Palsy at my late pregnancy. Bells Palsy is something like stroke but is the mild one. It didn’t have any prevention. I hope that I will be recovering soon.

My left tongue feel numb 4 days ago when I was eating the roti canai with the curry fish for my breakfast. I thought it was the curry to make my tongue feel numb, because the curry was so sour and may be of the herbs. Then I didn’t take this seriously and I thought it will be ok later.

2 days later, I suddenly felt my left eyes cannot function so smoothly. When I tried to click my eyes, my left eye was slower than my right eye. Then I felt scare and started to worry already. Because it was the sign for the stroke. Later at night, my left eye cannot close tightly when I closed my eyes. But the funny thing is when I sleep, my left eyes can closed tightly. Then I think I must go and see my gynae tomorrow morning.

I sent my hubby to work at 8am then I straight away went to see my gynae. I was waiting for 1½ hours, because quite many patients there. When I told the gynae my problem, she straight away said she will write a letter then ask me to go to the hospital and check. Because there must be something wrong to me. It could be very serious. She wants me to go to the hospital immediately and don’t want me to drive myself. Because she said this is the sign for stroke, so she scared when I drive half way, what if the stroke suddenly came, then will be very dangerous.

I called my hubby immediately. He was so shock and worry because I am crying when I told him what had happened to me. His colleague sent him to my brother’s house (because the clinic just down stairs of my brother’s house). Then my hubby quickly drove me to the University Hospital. When we reached the University Hospital, there were so many patients waiting. After registered, 20 minutes later, the nurse called my name. Then my hubby and I went into the consultancy room. The Chinese doctor did a few tests to check my eyes, hands and legs. She said something was not right to me. She must send my case to another doctor. So she asked me to wait outside first.

1½ hours later, the nurse called my name again. There was an Indian doctor attend to me. Again, she did a few tests to me then she called another Chinese doctor to discuss about my case. Two of them also feel very strange. Then they decided to pass my case to the medical specialist. They called the medical specialist, the doctor asked them to have my blood test first.

3 hours later, the medical specialist called my name. There was a Malay doctor. Again, she did the same tests and asked the same questions to me. Then she called the ear and eye specialist to come and discussed my problem. The ear and eye specialist did a few tests to me and both of them also said I have nothing wrong. Finally they confirmed may be I had Bells Palsy. The medical specialist said she don’t want and don’t dare not gave me medicine because I am pregnant. But because of my case, she had to. So she called the gynae and asked for the gynae opinion for the medicine she was going to give me. Finally they decided to give me 1 type of the medicine. 6 tablets in one time for 5 days. She said if I am not pregnant, she definitely will give me the medicine for killing the virus. Because she said for my case, may be is also virus attack. But she doesn’t want to take the risk. Just asked me to monitor myself, see after a few days, if nothing getting worse doesn’t have to go and see her or if I am still worry, can just go there and have some follow up only.

The doctors there were all very nice and helpful. They were apologized for let us waiting for so long and also they like to discuss with other specialist for your case before they gave the medicine. Although I had spent 7 hours there, seeing few specialists, having blood test, but they only charged RM5 for the medicine only. No consultation fee charges. Wahl, so cheap! I really feel worth it. But of course, if can, I also don’t want to go and see them la.

This morning I woke up, I looked at my face, everything was ok. But don’t ask me smile, because it will looks funny. It was like one side move and the other side stuck. I feel embarrassed and don’t dare to smile in front of the people. I asked my hubby am I looks funny now, he said is ok la, just a little bit different only. If you didn’t look closely, you will just like a normal people. I asked him what if I can’t recover. He said don’t worry la, he will not leave me one. I was so touching when I heard it. He even made the oat cereal for me this morning before we went to the market and cooked salmon fish and some vegetables for our lunch. I really feel very happy and grateful to had him as my husband.

I wanted to say thank you to my cousin Anna and Jo Ann. When they knew about this, they really gave me their supports and also a lot of the information regarding Bells Palsy. Thank you very much and I really appreciated to have you all as my cousins.

Ikea breakfast set at only RM0.99

I went to my aunt’s house today. We planned yesterday to have our breakfast at Ikea this morning. Because nowadays Ikea were having very attractive breakfast set. The breakfast set only selling at RM0.99, includes 1 fried meehoon/mee/rice and 1 cup of coffee/milk (refillable). Isn’t it very attractive? We had it before, the taste was quite nice and eiko-chan loves it very much. The breakfast set serve until 11am only. If you wish to have coffee included, then you have to reach there by 10am. If not, they will charge you the coffee at normal price.

But we couldn’t make it today, because eiko-chan still sleeping. Called her mobile phone and even knocked her bedroom’s door few times, still can’t wake her up. Haiz…the breakfast time already past and eiko-chan still sleeping. My aunty and I have to say bye bye to the breakfast set lor!

What can I do now…waiting for the lunch at my aunt’s house lor!

Phone called from China or Taiwan - Terrible

My hubby’s colleagues, my aunty and I received many phone called from China and Taiwan. The China lady or Taiwan lady will say they are doing some survey or may be you have won some lucky draw from their company.

They called my mobile phone few days ago. I saw the caller was from overseas. So I just pick-up the phone and said: ‘Hello’. Then I heard a lady said: ‘Hello, can you speak mandarin?’ I knew what was going on already. Then I just repeat Hello again. And then the lady asked me the same question again. So I said: Apa? (What?), Siapa? (Who is that?) When the lady heard what I said, she thought I am not a Chinese, then she straight away hangs up the phone. Actually I have been received quite a lot of sms from China and Taiwan, said that I am very lucky to be choosing from their company for the lucky draw’s winner. But I don’t believe it.

My aunt’s story was more terrible. She received the phone called from China last week. They called my aunt’s house. At first, my aunty thought that her friend from China called her. So when the lady in the phone asked her can she speak mandarin? My aunty straight away said yes. Then the story starts. The lady said she was calling from a China company and they were doing some marketing survey. She asked my aunt’s name, my aunty simply gave her a name. Then she started to ask my aunty many questions. My aunty knew what’s going on then she said she’s not free and then just hangs up the phone. After that, the lady called my aunty everyday. No matter what language my aunty spoke to her even she don’t understand (the lady just know mandarin), she still won’t give up and called again and again. Very terrible.

Merdeka Eve (Malaysia's National Day)

I just came back from my dinner with my hubby's colleagues. 13 of us were having our dinner at the Japanese Restaurant named KimsanIchi at Desa Sri Hartamas, KL.

The food there was very nice and the price was very reasonable too. Luckily I had made the booking 1 week before, because the restaurant was fully booked.

We ordered a lot of foods, but the bad thing was...I forgot to bring my camera there. At first, I was thinking of taking some photos there, and then I can upload the pictures into my blog. But because I seldom take pictures, so I wasn't used to bringing the camera along with me.

We ate until 9.30pm, when the waitress suddenly came and told us that the traffic police was issuing saman(compound) to the cars which were parked at the roadside. We rushed to our cars, luckily nobody got the saman.

When we were on our way back, we saw a lot of peoples celebrating and waiting for countdown for our Merdeka (National Day), especially pub. We took about 1 hour to reach home (usually 30 mins).

I am now also waiting for the countdown for our National Day, because I can also see the fireworks from my room.

I am going back to Penang tomorrow morning. I hope that I can wake up on time, because we are planning to start our journey at 6am.

Jo Jo, you are very funny! - Part 2

eiko-chan, don’t get angry, ok? You must feel very happy because your story got Part 2. Hehehe!

I went to eiko-chan’s house today. We were watching the Hong Kong series with her parents, and her brothers. Her father asked her mom to subscribe the Astro On Demand for a Hong Kong series whose Bobby Au Yong starring. When eiko-chan heard that, she straight away said: “Ya, I know I know, the series got Jacky chai and Ha Shuet one!” We all laughed at her again. Then I told her it was Ha Yu not Ha Shuet, don’t always simply change people’s name.

Hahaha, she really very funny!

Jo Jo, you are very funny!

I went to the night market (pasar malam) at SS2, Petaling Jaya yesterday with my cousin eiko-chan and her mom. Reached there about 5pm, we bought fruits, asam laksa, tofu bakar, pohpia and chan chu lai cha.

When we pass by a mini hawker's store selling lung sou tong (in Cantonese), eiko-chan asked me to wait for a while, and she wanted to buy the wu sou tong (in Cantonese). Then I said wu sou tong??? What is that? I never heard it before. Then she pointed at the store and I saw the Chinese word was written as lung sou tong. Hahaha, I laughed at her and told her it was lung sou tong, not wu sou tong. Don't simply change their name.

We left the night market about 5.40pm. In the car, eiko-chan told me about her trip to Hong Kong last 2 years. She said the food there was very nice except thong kao chi. I said: "Thong kao chi??? What is that???" Then she said the Hong Kong's series always bought one ler, the taste similar with shark fin, but is not shark fin ler. My aunty and I laughed at her again, I told her that food call wun chai chi, not thong kao chi!

Hahaha, her Cantonese was so funny!

My cousin sister is coming back to Malaysia!

Jo Ann is coming back to Malaysia on 25th of September. Of course, her lovely son will be following her also. The happiest thing is…they will stay in Malaysia for 2 months. And her hubby will be coming back to Malaysia 1 month later than them. So her hubby will only stay in Malaysia for a month. Anyway, we are so happy and really looking forward to meet them.

My Little Boy, CARSON - Part 2

My Little Boy said he don't want to go to school anymore. Because he don't like to do homework. It was not the first time he said like that. And we will explain to him every kid also must go to school and study, and then they will become a smart thinking and knowledgeable person. And also we told him that so many kids out there want to study, but because of their parent's financial, they can't do so. Then My Little Boy asked me: "Study needs a lot of money?" I said yes. Then he kept quiet for a while. After a few minutes, he said to me: "Mommy, if I don't have to go to school, then I can help you to do all the house work and also you can save more money to buy milk powder or baby's thing for My Little Brother. Will it sounds nice?" He said it happily. When I heard he said that, I stunted. Then I said: "If you didn't go to school and study, you don't even know how to read and listen to the words which cartoon is writing or talking next time, do you want like that?" My Little Boy finally said: "No, I don't want to be like that. I want to understand all the words which cartoon is saying."

From this, I knew that we must use another method to talk to children.

My Piggy Boy

Oh, no! I think my coming soon Piggy Boy also very active. May be even more actives than his brother, Carson. Because I can feel he is moving in my stomach more than Carson last time. Aiyoyo! Carson already makes me feel headache, another one may be also like that. Hai, I really don’t know what to do already!

My Active Boy

Carson is a very active boy. He can’t sit still for about 20 minutes. Even when he is doing his homework, he won’t sit still also. He will write 3 or 4 words, then he run here and there, then only he will sit down and continue it. In the classroom, it was the same. Some of his teacher will asked him to sit still or warn him. He’s very scared of teacher scolding, so he will listen to the teacher. But some of the teacher who is very soft type one, he will repeat to run around the classroom. I am very worried about him. He will be going to primary school next year. I really hope that he won’t be like that anymore.

My Little Boy, CARSON

My little boy is very lazy to go to school. Every morning, very difficult to wake him up to go to school. But when you said: "Aiya, if you are so tired today, then no need to go to school lar!" Then he will wake up and straight away said: "Cannot, teacher will scold me one, must go to school." hehehe...my son is like that.

My pregnancy

2 of my pregnancy also very good. I am very lucky. Because I didn't have any morning sickness or changed appetite. Everything just the same except my weight...hehehe!

For my first pregnancy, I put on weight a lot...about 8 kg. But for my second one, until now I just put on about 3 kg only. I was so surprised. I asked the doctor why like that? Is there anything wrong? The doctor said is ok, as long as the baby is growing and looks healthy.

Hahaha...is good for me also lar! Because I don't have to on diet so hard on my confinement month.

Disgusting thing happened today!

I sent my hubby to work everyday. Today, as usual I sent my hubby to work. Actually we came out late, luckily we can managed to reach his office on time. I dropped him at the roadside in front of his office. His office is on the 1^st floor of the building. My hubby quickly walked across the road to his office. Usually when I reached his office, I will automatically look up to his office pantry’s window (the pantry is facing the main road) whether is it open. Because if the pantry’s window is open, that means the office door is open already. I am as usual just look up to his office pantry’s window. I saw his Chinese male colleague is kissing his Malay female colleague in front of the window. I was so shock, then I thought I was wrong, because early in the morning, may be my eyes a little bit blur. But they did it again to make me confirmed that what I have seen was true. Oh my god, how can they do such ‘disgusting’ thing in the office? What are they thinking? For me, this thing is very serious already; I don’t want to simply say any bad thing of people, so I called my hubby’s mobile phone to ask him what colour shirt is the Chinese guy wearing today? When my hubby told me the answer, then I straight away tell him why I am asking this. My hubby was so shocked too. Because he said his colleague saw this thing before but they just don’t want to believe it and thought may be they see wrongly.

Actually, for me, I am not racist type of person. What I cannot stand is the Chinese guy is getting married this Oct 2007 with his girl friend that stayed together with him almost 4 years already. And for the Malay girl, she will be also getting married with her boy friend end of Aug 2007. How can they do that?

Everyone in the office also knew what is going on. They just don’t bother to say anything only. Because 2 of them always said they are just good friend only, nothing more. But they used to eat lunch just 2 of them only. Is really not fare to their boy friend and girl friend, right? If they are really love each other so much, then they can just broke up with their boy friend and girl friend, then starts dating lar, right? Another thing is…the Malay girl told her new Malay colleague said that she and the guy are like that one, don’t have to ask or say anything more. Because got 1 Malay lady colleague scolded her before, said that she tak malu kah(don’t feel embarrass)? She just kept quiet only.

Actually I don’t like this Malay girl. Because before she gets along with this Chinese guy, she was with another Chinese married man whose also work in the same office. They were together for about 3 years. The Chinese married man loves her so much, until he didn’t even bother to care about his wife and his 4 years old daughter. But luckily he left the office later because of this Chinese guy ‘join in’. The Chinese married guy was going back to his wife and daughter now and they are planning to have another baby soon.

Boiling Eggs

Most of my family members love to eat eggs, especially half boiled eggs. Yesterday, me and whoisbaby was discussing how to prevent the egg's shell from cracking when boiling. Finally I found out how to prevent the egg's shell from cracking from the The Egg Cookbook.

Boiling Eggs:

1. Prevent shells from cracking. Allow refrigerated eggs to thaw before putting them in boiling water. Adding eggs to cold water then bringing to a boil together also helps to prevent the shells from cracking.
2. Seal cracks in shells. Add a little vinegar or salt to the water. This helps the whites to set faster, which effectively seals the cracks, if any, and prevent more whites from seeping out.
3. Centre yolks. When boiling eggs, keep stirring the water to keep the eggs moving. Stirring positions the yolk in the centre, which is aesthetically more pleasing than lopsided egg yolks.
4. Tender soft-boiled eggs with runny yolks. Put the eggs into cold water then bring to a boil over moderate heat. Turn off the heat, leave the eggs to steep for 5 minutes then rinse quickly with cold water.
5. Easy shelling. Wait for hard-boiled eggs to cool completely before shelling them. Cracking the shells and then soaking the eggs in tap water helps to loosen the shells, making them easier to shell.

Steamed Egg Custard

This is one of my favourite foods. Whenever I went to the Japanese restaurant, I will order their Set Lunch or Set Dinner because of this. Let me share with all of you the recipe of cooking this. Also because of this Steamed Egg Custard, I bought this recipe book named The Egg Cookbook.

Ingredients:
20g Japanese fish cake
1 stalk spring onion
3 eggs
1 cup stock

Seasoning:
2 tsp salt

Method:

1. Rinse fish cake and cut into slices. Rinse spring onion and slice thinly.
2. Beat eggs in bowl. Mix well with stock and seasoning. Strain egg mixture through sieve into bowl.
3. Place bowl into steamer, cover and steam for about 5 minutes. Remove cover and place fish cakes onto egg. Cover and continue steaming until egg custard is set. Garnish with spring onion and serve.

* Shrimps, mushrooms, clams, crab sticks are optional.

Seafood in Miso Soup

I like to collect recipe books...but I seldom cook...hehehe! Whenever I go to the bookstore, I will automatically walk to the recipe books section. I really don't know why? May be because I really enjoy eating. If I am alone while eating, I will eat very slowly(spoon by spoon) because I wanted to taste the food nicely.

Today is Sunday, I looked over all my recipe books to find a recipe for some delicious soup which I can cook(simple and easy) and I found it inside this recipe book named Soup of the day, they have a soup called Seafood in Miso Soup which I think will be very delicious. Yes, I am right, the soup is really very delicious. So I would like to share the soup recipe here with all of you.

Ingredients:
100g prawns
100g squids
200g clams
300g tofu (suitable for soup)
1200ml water
3 thsp (120g) miso

Seasonings: some salt and pepper

Method:

1. Remove feelers of prawns, devein, rinse and set aside. Remove skin, intestines and cartilage of the squids, rinse and score surface. Soak clams in salt water to remove sand bits and rinse. Cut tofu into small cubes.
2. Bring 1200ml of water in a pot to boil. Add miso and stir well, then add tofu and bring to boil. Add prawns, squids and clams and bring to boil again.
3. Add Seasonings before serving.

June 2007

Every year June, I will wish my 4 relatives(whoisbaby, yeloh-powah, eiko-chan & Joo Yee) and my best friend Happy Birthday. But this year, my family had another hei see(celebration)...my god brother(also my cousin brother) got married on the 9th of June(they registered last year).

Another good news is...his lovely wife is pregnant now and the baby will be due this December. Hahaha, my god brother very efficient ler, because they wanted to have piggy baby mah! Congratulation to them. That's mean this year our family will have 2 more new members joining in (my baby and his baby). So nice!

Happy 21st Birthday...Joo Yee!

Today is my other cousin brother Joo Yee's 21st birthday. He is now studying in Australia. Hopefully he will be back this December.

Today is eiko-chan 2?(she don't like people to mention her age) years old birthday. I wish she can go to Korea and meet up with her husband(she said one) - Super Junior and attend their concert. And the most important thing is...CAN SLIM DOWN...hahaha, don't angry loh!

My cousin sister...eiko-chan said she will help me to upload my son's picture in my Blog since I'm still new here and I'm not quite sure how to upload the picture. So I just log-in for her and she will do it for me and also she will help me to change some setting to let it look nicer too. Then I went to have my breakfast with my aunty(eiko-chan's mom) in the kitchen while she helped me with my Blog. About half an hour later, she came in to the kitchen and said everything is ok already and she just log out from my Blog. So I just said thank you then I didn't bother to log-in yesterday.

I was thinking to go online today to check the new look of my Blog. Yes, it really looks nicer already, and I must said thank you to her...but why she go and post the mou liu(nonsense) things in my Blog. Eh, eiko-chan! You got nothing better to do ah?

Finally I start my own blog

My cousin sister had asked me to start a blog for myself for almost 1 year already. A few of them have their own blog, and some even have a few different blogs for themselves. They are making money now because of their blogs. They always asked me to do it and earn some extra money for myself and my family. But I don't have the motivation to do it until my youngest cousin sister told me that she already earned US$80 within few months time. Some of the people may think that just US$80 only, what the big deal. But for me, its a lot also (if convert to RM). Because you just needs to write something which you think is interesting then you can earn the money easily and the most important thing is you can do it at anytime anywhere you like.

Hahaha...US$$$$...i am coming...
